“Keep writing through the pain; your pain is your power,” is what I heard in my head all day today. So I did just that. I wrote. And sobbed. Rewriting Ronan’s diagnoses is the cruelest form of self-torture, but there’s no way around it. I was listening to Ronan today, it has been a few years since I had last heard it. I decided to look him up, see his face again. I never realized that he had neuroblastoma. I had a friend pass away from the same cancer back in 2003 ( we were both 4 as well). I had an internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering the summer of 2019. One day I was able to shadow a doctor. I chose, and was lucky enough to shadow Dr Shakeel Modak who just happened to be the same doctor that treated and saw Julia throughout her treatment at MSK way back when. He specializes and is at the forefront of neuroblastoma research. He remembered her, remembers all of his patients. I’m going to guess that he also saw Ronan. It is a small, unfortunate world, but knowing that treatment is only improving gives me hope for the future. I hope you all are well.

Hi. I just ordered a sweatshirt with Ronan’s name on it and I think his song is on the back. I had never heard Ronan before because Taylor Swift isn’t my genre but this song really made me crack. I’m so sorry for your loss but you had amazing years with him and him both deserved more together. Thanks for letting Taylor make a video with his images what a beautiful tribute, I don’t cry to music but this will always get me. I will hug my daughter tighter now. In so sorry for your loss.
