Poppy Ronan Thompson

Baby Poppy was born April 8th at 5:35 am weighing 6lbs 11ounces. She is perfect and we are all so in love.

I know you all have been worrying, wondering, and waiting for an update. I promise to do so soon, but between breast feeding and not wanting to put her down, I have not had a free hand to type. We as a family are just taking some quiet time to soak this all in and of course are missing our Ronan, so very much.

Thank you for all your sweet comments, love, and thoughts. I promise to write when I get a little more time.

    Oh Maya I am so happy for you. You don’t know me and I have never written on here before but I have been following your story for a long time now and I tell just about anyone who will listen (including my mother who just jumped when I gasped after seeing your post). Your story has effectively changed my life. I am in nursing school right now and you and your family and this blog are the reason my goal is to work in pediatric oncology, because I want to make what little difference I can.

    Anyway my point was to congratulate you. Poppy is beautiful and I know she comes with a complex set of varying emotions but I’m so happy for you and I wish you as much happiness and joy as possible with the addition that it’s also perfectly okay to be as sad as you want. Best of luck with the upcoming sleepless nights and keep telling your story you never know who else’s life it will change!

    I’ve looked at the pictures again and again with so much joy. Life is so bittersweet…I know Poppy doesn’t make it all better but she sure is cute!
    I had my 2nd son after my husband was in an awful accident…and I just couldn’t wrap my head around the whole thing…life had become hard and I wasn’t sure I could handle a baby in my new world…until I met my son officially on his birth day. That day changed me…and I realized that the pain and suffering aren’t fair but the good times are cherished in a whole new way. I’m sure that makes sense to you too. I live more day by day than I ever used to…and though I miss who I was before…sometimes things seem simpler.
    Anyway — I couldn’t be any happier for all of you. Thanks for sharing the pictures. I know I don’t know you but somehow I feel like I know all of you…and as I knew you were in labor I just wanted so much to know how you all were…thanks for sharing all with us.
    Hope things are going smoothly with everything…she’s so perfect.

    Ah, she is such a beautiful baby! A little bit of Ronan, and so much special, unique, one in a million Poppy! No doubt you’re on an emotional roller coaster, but I hope you and your precious family will be able to enjoy this wonderful ‘babymoon’ for as long as you want to.     i have Ronan on repeat on my ipod. i usually get boerd listening to songs more than once, but Ronan is different. i have a love for Ro that i have for nothing else. he is amazing, i know he is looking down on poppy and smiling at how perfect she is. congratulations on this sweet little girl. her name is so fitting,with her poppy eyes.

    OMG- She couldn’t be more beautiful! I remember the feeling of never wanting to put my babies down. People use to say he will never learn to walk if you don’t put him down. Well they all walk.
