Hi Maya, I had this huge brain tumor removed in 2008. I was 56. I really do wish I could of just traded places with Ronan.
You know what would be awesome?? Rockstar Ronan t shirts in infant/toddler sizes!!!! We are trying to bring attention and focus to pediatric cancer!! Why not let our babies spread the word!!! I bet my 9 month old wearing a FUCK CANCER shirt would get some reactions!!! What about flesh tone beanies in infant/toddler sizes with either ‘fuck cancer’ or ‘Rockstar Ronan’ embroidered on the back????? I have a ton of ideas. Please feel free to e mail me if you’d care to hear them. Temporary tattoos!! Purple stars for little man!!! Okay, I’ll stop now. Please consider the infant/toddler tees though! My son and I get stopped every three feet anywhere we go because he is one gorgeous little boy. I read in one of your posts that one of your friends felt like a celebrity when she was with Ro because of all the attention he attracted with his external beauty and I’m sure his internal beauty shining through helped as well! I remember relating to that post because that’s how I feel with my son. I would LIVE for him to wear a Ro shirt!!! Every person that stops to stare at him would have to take notice of his FUCK CANCER shirt and ask questions!!!

I’ve never watched “Stand up to Cancer ” before. Not because I didn’t care or because its not worthy… more because it makes me so depressed and down I HATE cancer, I saw a mom lose her infant to lukemia, 3 years ago my dad was dx with cancer…his battle was short 2 mos later he was gone. So its painful to watch.. I guess ignoring it was easier in my mind. With nothing on last Friday I was channel surfing just as Taylor Swift appeared…. well my 8 yr old is obsessed with Taylor Swift and no way was I going to change the channel without paying for it with a melt down. So I waited for her to start singing her latest hit and bam….I got “Ronan” instead.. the tears came. I just had to go to google and find this Ronan. The rest is history…I think it took me 4 days off and on to get through it all.. (You should write a book). I also was amazed that Taylor hadn’t talked to you about what was going to be in the song. Its true from the words in the song she HAD to of took the time to read the entire blog because she got it right on target. The song is on my Itunes although its very hard to listen to it , more so now that I “know” Ronan. It sucks big time that Ronan isnt here, I wish I could hug you in real life…

WOW Maya! 6 Million hits on your page!! I was at the Heros for Children 5K Run this morning in Dallas, TX and I was telling another mom about you and how Taylor Swift wrote a song for and she stopped me right before I could say his name and she said “yes, for Ronan!!” She then told me that she’s been following you as well for the past year and a half. I was very teary eyed at the race at its for childhood cancer and there were a lot of surviors at the race and a lot of families wearing t-shirt in memory of their sweet child who lost their battle.

Im currently a senior in highschool. All my life I wanted to go into something medical but could never figure out what. Your painful story and Ronan’s beautiful blue eyes just hit me in a way and I just knew what I was going to do 6 months ago I lost my godmother to her 5 year battle with bone cancer, and its been so hard, but a son? You re an amazingly strong woman. I have applied to college and will be going into pre-med to become an oncologist who specializes in childhood cancer. I will make a difference . That’s a promise.

I would love to order my 15 month old son a shirt!! I ordered bracelets for my husband & I and got our kids a pack of the kids ones! I am excited for them to get here! My son loves to see Ronan’s pictures on here He tries to say Ronan ( I am teaching him) he’s cute that he tries & it sounds very close but not dead on! In 2010 there was a boy on my bus two year older than me i watched him go from a strong first grader all the way to sixth grade. Then seventh grade he stopped going to school he lost the glimmer in his eyes he lost his hair but the one thing he never lost was the support he was an amazing energetic kid who could light up the room just with his smile. no child deserves this both him and Ronan’s spirit’s touch our lives every day. Keep Them alive fight for them be their voice and everyone else ou their in this world fighting let them know that they are not the only ones fighting, we are fighting for them.
