Magic Medicine, Day 2 Round 2

Today went really well. We spent the day with Mimi in outpatient getting Ronan’s chemo treatment. He slept a lot of the day which he really needed to do. Wish mommy could have done the same; I’m beat tonight. Ronan got really sick to his stomach last night so I was up most of the night watching him. Woody was up as well and after he helped me with Ro, he spent the next 3 hours on building some Lego Star Wars ship for Ronan. It was huge and took him until about 2 in the morning. What a good daddy. He works so hard for us during the day and comes home and works hard for us at night too. Love him. My sweet Lindsey came and brought me lunch today at the hospital. Always so nice to see her. Her little girl was born just 4 months ago. I looked at her and said, “I can’t believe it was just 4 months ago that she was born and I came to see you in the hospital.” It seriously feels like a lifetime ago. Look how much has changed in just a month. Anyone’s life can completely change in the blink of an eye. I met Lindsey about a year ago give or take a few months. I feel like we’ve been friends forever. You know when you meet someone and you just have an instant connection? It was like that with Linds. She has become one of my best friends and going through all of this has shown me that she is  100% true blue. I am so lucky that I have so many amazing people in my life.

Ronan is super happy tonight and glad to be with his brothers. We spent most of the evening playing outside running around in the backyard. I read that it is good after chemo to get some exercise. Hoping that will help him tolerate it a little better as he sleeps. None of this is easy on any of us, but I am thankful for things like Ronan not grasping the reality of what is going on. He is still a happy little boy for the most part.

So very tired tonight. Time to snuggle up with my Ronan.
