Winston and Ronan share a precious little friendship for 3 year olds. They did as 2 year olds too. These little guys are undoubtedly the reason I met Maya, one of the most caring, loving, special women I have EVER met in my life to this day. It has been a heart warming experience watching my son, Winston, and Ronan develop this little bond that they have. I remember hearing them in the back of my car one morning having their first “real” conversation. I watched them play side by side, and than develop into playing with each other.. .. Ronan has been, still is and will always be such a special part of our life. It is hard not having his smile around here as much as we are accustomed to, but I know it will be back soon. This little guy is strong.
Winston went to visit him today. Ronan was a super-star. The only way one could tell he was “sick” was by the fact that we were visiting him in a hospital. This child had such a smile on his face, his normal “Ronan look” in his eye. Maya was a beam of sunshine (even with 6 hours -out of 72 – of sleep). Kay and Charlie – shining stars, looked fresh as daisies. What beautiful, amazing hearts. The beauty of kids is they understand, and they don’t. And so, they just fight and go. Fight and go. First thing Ronan did was show W his “owie” (spelling) on his head, and his Iron Man port on his chest. He is such a champion. He is so brave. The kids played with toys, W ate a few of Ro-Ro’s chicken nuggets, they cuddled and watched a little bit of a movie . .and than it was time for Ronan to nap, and W wanted to play “doctor” and start pushing buttons on the IV’s (which he never got to) and turing the lights on and off – which definitely meant it was time for us to go.
It was a good, no, GREAT visit. Warmed my heart to see that little guy so happy, strong and smiling so big. Warmed my heart to see my son see his favorite friend. W is going to miss R in swimming and in school. Health permitting (meaning as long as W is cold, sick free) and doctor permitting, he will be there for his friend AS MUCH AS HE POSSIBLY CAN to brighten up his day.
We had some rain here today in Phoenix. Everyone posted rainbows all over their Facebook pages. I dedicate them all to Ronan.

/ August 18, 2010Keeping life as “normal” as possible was huge in Wil’s treatment. We let him go to preschool, swim, ride his bike, play ball, etc. He had friends around all the time which kept his spirits up for the battle.
Love the Dr. Suess quote to by the way! Perfect. Email or call when you feel up to it. Have a great button fund raising idea that we’d love to do for your family that someone did for us.

/ August 18, 2010I’m one of your boot camp buddies. Have been going through something similiar with my niece. There is a reason for what you are going through. Hang tough, hold on to your faith – that will see you through. Its a test of faith. Ronan’s beautiful spirit will prevail. One day at a time. Try to remember to take care of you, so you can take care of him. It’s unbelievable, but Ronan will give you strength to fight with him. Ronan is inspiring and touching so many lives – there is a great plan for him. All my thoughts and endless prayers are with you and your family. If there is anything I can do for you, please let me know – h20wife@yahoo.com. I’ll be glad to help in any way I can. Cecilia

Hang in there. Many people are praying and waiting for Ronan to come through with great spirit. I know he will.
Take care.

/ August 18, 2010It’s so wonderful to see the two friends laughing together. Friends can be so therapeutic to our souls and spirits. You can see through the pictures that Ronan’s spirits are so lifted just by hanging out w/ Winston in a hospital bed. What a precious site to see. Still thinking and praying for you guys all throughout the days. ~Raquel
